Adinkra Tiles

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 1, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Adinkra Tiles, a casual Mahjong solitaire puzzle game inspired by Ghanaian culture and Adinkra symbols. This game is developed by Wesley Consults. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the limited information processed when you use our mobile application.

This Privacy Policy explains what information our app utilizes, how it is stored, which third-party services are integrated, and your options for managing your data.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect or request any personal identifiers or directly identifiable information. When you play Adinkra Tiles, we only collect and process anonymous, technical, and gameplay diagnostic data through integrated services to help serve contextual ads, analyze app performance, fix errors, and improve game quality. Specifically, we utilize:

  • Google Firebase Analytics: For aggregate statistics on gameplay and features.
  • Google Firebase Crashlytics: For crash logs, system diagnostic data, and stability metrics.
  • Google Fonts: For typography resources downloaded at first launch.
  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) & UMP: For ad serving, frequency capping, and GDPR consent management.
  • Local Storage (SharedPreferences): For progress, settings, and economy states saved locally on your device.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

To provide a persistent gaming experience, Adinkra Tiles stores game progress, settings, and local economy parameters directly on your device using SharedPreferences. This data is entirely local, never synced or uploaded to our servers, and is deleted when you uninstall the app or reset progress in the settings menu.

The stored local parameters include:

Category Data Stored Locally
Gameplay Progress Best scores per level, star ratings earned, and overall level progress.
Preferences & Settings Sound effects enabled status, music enabled status, music volume level (0.0 to 1.0), preferred difficulty setting (easy, normal, relaxed), haptic feedback intensity (off, low, medium, high), and show tile names preference.
Economy & Inventory Local Cowrie wallet balance, booster items inventory, daily reward claim cycles/dates, and claimed achievement/collection flags.
Monetization & Ads Sandbox shop item purchases, ad display limits, cooldown timestamps, and permanent entitlement flags (such as Remove Ads).
Onboarding State Onboarding tutorial completion status.

4. Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to study player engagement and refine our game design. This tool tracks gameplay actions as events, which are aggregated without attaching any personal information (no names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account details are sent).

Events recorded include:

  • App initialization/open events.
  • Screen view navigation events (tracking active screens).
  • Gameplay milestones: level started, level completed, and level failed.
  • In-game actions: hints used, shuffles used, pauses activated, settings opened, tile previews opened, onboarding completion, and progress resets.
  • Monetization & Shop actions: shop section viewed, products viewed, sandbox purchase attempts, sandbox purchase successes/failures, and purchase restore attempts.
  • Advertising actions: rewarded ad requests, rewarded ad completions/failures, interstitial ad impressions, interstitial ad skip events, and "Remove Ads" entitlement state updates.

These gameplay events may capture parameters such as level ID, difficulty, score, star ratings, elapsed time, and failure reasons. Additionally, the Firebase Analytics SDK automatically collects coarse technical data:

  • A randomized App-instance ID generated for each installation.
  • Coarse device parameters (device model, operating system version, screen resolution).
  • Approximate location derived from your network IP address (at country or city level).
  • General usage diagnostics (session durations, first-open times).

This data is managed under Google's general privacy practices. You can review Google Firebase Privacy Support for more details.

5. Crash Reporting

To ensure game stability and fix bugs quickly, Adinkra Tiles integrates Google Firebase Crashlytics. When an error or crash occurs, a diagnostic report is sent to help us identify and resolve the issue.

These reports contain:

  • Fatal errors (uncaught Flutter exceptions, platform-level crashes) and stack traces.
  • Non-fatal logs generated from save failures, storage errors, audio playback errors, volume update issues, and progress reset issues.
  • Technical state metrics at crash time (operating system version, device model, free RAM/disk space, and app version).
  • A randomized crash-instance identifier.

6. Google Fonts

The app uses the Google Fonts library (incorporating the Cinzel and Nunito font families) to provide custom typography. When the app is launched for the first time, it may fetch these fonts from Google servers (fonts.googleapis.com) to cache them on your device.

During this request, Google does not receive or collect user game progress, but standard technical HTTP headers (such as IP address and User-Agent metadata) are processed as part of serving the font files. You can find Google’s general privacy practices at Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Advertising and Monetization

We integrate the Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) SDK to display interstitial and rewarded video ads. To request, personalize, and measure these ads, the SDK automatically collects and transmits technical device and interaction data to Google and its partner networks. This includes:

  • Device & OS Identifiers: Screen resolution, operating system version, brand, and device model.
  • Approximate Location: Coarse location derived from your network IP address (at the country, region, or city level) to serve geographically relevant ads.
  • Ad Activity & Interaction: Tracking of ad impressions, video views, completions, click-through actions, and diagnostic metrics (such as loading latencies) to prevent fraud and calculate ad performance.

Consent Management (GDPR/EEA/UK Compliance): We use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to present a consent dialog to players in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom. This consent dialogue allows users to choose whether to allow personalized ads, non-personalized/contextual ads, or deny consent. You can modify, customize, or revoke your consent choice at any time using the in-game settings menu under Privacy Options.

8. Information We Do Not Collect

Adinkra Tiles maintains a minimal data footprint. We explicitly do **not** access, request, or collect any of the following details:

  • Names or email addresses
  • Phone numbers or contact lists
  • Account log-ins or user profiles
  • Precise GPS location coordinates
  • Microphone, camera, or photos access
  • Real payment details or billing information
  • Personal files or external system folders
  • Text messages or communication data
  • Direct biological, health, or sensor metrics
Please Note: Adinkra Tiles utilizes a local sandbox store for items and cosmetic upgrades, meaning no live real-money billing systems (such as Apple App Store or Google Play billing SDKs) are present in the app. Ad serving is restricted to non-personalized or contextual ads unless you explicitly consent to ad personalization.

Additionally, the app's Android configuration explicitly implements manifest instructions (specifically tools:node="remove" for com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID and android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID) to remove permissions for tracking the hardware Advertising ID on Android 12+ devices, unless user consent has authorized it via our UMP dialog.

9. How We Use Information

We use the minimal diagnostic and gameplay data collected for the following purposes:

  1. Game Stability: Reviewing stack traces and crash metrics to patch bugs.
  2. Gameplay Calibration: Analyzing aggregated level completion times and failures to balance puzzle difficulty.
  3. Feature Optimization: Understanding which settings, shop items, or tools (e.g., tile names, haptics, boosters) are most helpful to players.
  4. Visual Experience: Rendering the appropriate typography styles dynamically via Google Fonts.
  5. Local Save States & Economy: Preserving level progress, cowrie wallet balances, local purchases, and game settings on-device.
  6. Ad Operations: Managing ad frequency limits (capping), rewarded ad validation, and rendering relevant ad content where consented.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or lease any player information. Gameplay event metrics, crash logs, and standard request metadata are shared only with Google Firebase, Google Fonts, and Google AdMob (along with its authorized partner network) to provide the core ad-serving, diagnostic, analytics, and font-serving services described above. We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect legal safety.

You can find Google's general privacy terms and partner network disclosures at Google's Privacy & Terms.

11. Children's Privacy

Adinkra Tiles is a casual puzzle game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are under the age of 13 (or under the applicable age of consent in your region), please note that the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Firebase will be configured to restrict personalization features and limit data collection where required by law (such as COPPA compliance). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

12. Data Retention

  • Local Progress, Economy & Settings: Retained indefinitely on your device. You can purge this at any time by resetting progress in-game or by uninstalling the app.
  • Firebase Analytics: Retained by Google according to the default Firebase project retention parameters (set to **14 months** for event-level data).
  • Firebase Crashlytics: Crash logs and diagnostic traces are automatically deleted after **90 days**.
  • Google AdMob: Advertising logs and associated interaction telemetry are retained by Google according to Google's standard ad services retention windows.

13. Your Choices and Controls

You have full control over your local data, progress, and advertising consent. You can easily manage it through the following options:

  • Reset Progress: Navigate to Settings > Data > Reset All Progress in the game menu to wipe your high scores, stars, cowrie wallet balance, local sandbox purchases, and level completion status.
  • Ad Consent Choices: Navigate to the settings menu in the game and select Privacy Options to update or revoke your ad personalization consent settings.
  • Full Removal: Uninstall the app from your device to instantly erase all local files, custom options, wallet databases, and storage settings.
  • Developer Inquiries: Because our analytics, crash reporting, and contextual ads use random, non-identifiable installation IDs rather than account profiles, we do not have an automated mechanism to link individual players to their backend telemetry. If you wish to make data queries, you can reach out via the developer email below.

14. Security

We use reasonable security practices to protect any diagnostic data during transmission and processing. Google Firebase and Google AdMob also implement advanced host-level safeguards to keep analytics, crashes, and ad interaction logs secure. However, please be aware that no mobile network transmission or digital storage platform can be guaranteed 100% secure.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect game updates or changes in legal compliance. We will notify you of any revisions by updating this webpage. Changes are effective immediately upon posting to this site.
